Senior Vice President, Centralized Shared Services
Birdell Lewis is the Senior Vice President, Centralized Shared Services for Synchrony. In this role he is responsible for providing strategic direction, thought leadership and champions the development of an inclusive 600-person diverse organization.  He has a diverse background in numerous areas including Operations, Quality Management, Training & Organizational Development, Coaching, Facilitating, and Client Development.  Birdell has a passion for partnering with business leaders in effort to develop and integrate diversity strategies focused on recruiting, hiring and developing diverse talent, while fostering an inclusive work environment and ensuring management awareness.

Birdell brings more than two decades of consumer finance experience with 18 years with Synchrony (including the time prior to its separation from GE in 2014). Before this role, he was the Vice President, Strategic Partners, overseeing operational strategy for multiple client portfolios.

Prior to rejoining GE Capital in 2013, Birdell was Director Client Development for Ceridian, SVS where he led several prepaid services programs. During his tenure there he was responsible for overseeing the delivery of strategically driven results, value-added solutions and flawless execution for a variety of prepaid programs. In addition, he is an exemplary role model and advocate for equality and inclusion. He works tirelessly at developing programs, processes, and policies that support diverse collegiate students.

Birdell has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Columbia University. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Management and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Fontbonne University. He currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri with his wife, daughter, and son. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, coaching and mentoring youth athletes.
